Kenya Pope
Professional Leadership Coach

Kenya Pope is a Community Healer, and her mediums are faith, rhythm, words, movement, herbs, and the breath. Since before she can remember, Kenya has seen the world differently - wanting conditions to be better than she inherited them. Maybe it was because of the violence she witnessed as a child or later experienced growing up that pushed her to make a difference. Or it could have been that making a difference is her divine purpose on Earth so these traumatic experiences were prerequisite.

Either way Kenya Pope lives by a gentle reminder from her mentor Dr. Sabrina N’Diaye who says, “Everyone doing anything great in the world - from the school teacher to the prophet - has suffered trauma.” It is what we do with it that matters.

Kenya has spent her adult career serving others. Whether it be spiritually as clergy or in direct service: to the mentally ill, the substance addicted, the struggling entrepreneur, the developing nonprofit, the helping professional, the domestic violence survivors, or sex trafficking survivors, Kenya Pope has been intent on creating a difference for others. Over her adult career, she has earned several certifications to be proud of: Professional Life Coach for Entrepreneurs, Full-Circle Birthing Doula assisting families with pregnancy planning through the breastfeeding process, Nationally and Locally Certified Crime Victim Advocate, and Minister licensed through AME Church in Maryland.

Kenya Pope, Executive Director, GFG Coaching & Development

Kenya Pope has operated several businesses, providing products or services in brick and mortar establishments and the online realm. As CEO and Executive Director of GFG Coaching & Development, she champions W. E. B. Dubois’ observations about Black entrepreneurship, when he highlights the "advantage of the disadvantaged", where hardships endured by Black entrepreneurs have served as the inspiration for their business ideas and made them intimately familiar with the consumer. This advantage manifests itself in her keen insights on business strategies to scale. Kenya’s focus on ontology as a Life and Leadership Coach has allowed her to serve as a “midwife” of sorts for individuals or organization clients to “birth” their next best version of themselves. Taking birth to its literal sense, Kenya Pope serves as a Full Circle Birthing Doula & Lactation Advocate, ushering the birthing family through one of the greatest natural events - childbirth. She partners advocacy with education by introducing parents to the restorative power of genograms and birthing stories to create legacy.

Certified Facilitator of Mind Body Medicine, Applied Behavior Health graduate of Ashford University Global Campus, Kenya Pope creates sacred space for those at the crossroads of their own rebirth: Black parents of Black sons internationally; Afro-Latinas who speak English, Spanish, or Span-glish; Black men; and Afro-Caribbean peoples or Diasporic survivors of trauma. Kenya Pope graciously merges her spiritual gifts with 15 years of business training into transformative leadership retreats at stunning destination locations across the globe.

Kenya Pope continues to be a Community Healer Project Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland among other USA neighborhoods; the Caribbean; London; and West Africa. Kenya Pope’s commitment to make a difference in the world is linked to the legend of the Benu bird, undergoing fire and water to experience rebirth
